We are back!

Hey Zombie Hunters,

It has been awhile since I have updated my blog (obviously). I have been incredibly busy the past few years, and certain things had to be put on hold. One of those things was my Youtube channel. I have recently started putting new content on the channel, and am currently have some channel art and a new avatar being made. Cannot wait to see the finished product!

So what are my future plans? I hope to continue with the Minecraft lets plays, as well as mod spotlight/tutorials. I may also be posting some game play videos from other games that I enjoy. I also would like to team up with some friends to do some multi-player gameplay.

There are so many good mods out there currently for Minecraft, many of which I have not even scratched the surface. I look forward to exploring these mods, and posting videos to expose them to other players.

Here is the link to my latest video on YouTube. I would appreciate your support as I continue to grow my channel.

Here's to the future!

There will always be zombies

I love mods that take a not so useful object in MineCraft and give it a purpose. An example of this is the "Rotten Flesh to Leather" mod by "EpicBlargh".

There is never a shortage of zombies to kill in MineCraft, so you always end up with a ton of rotten flesh. This mod will allow you to "smelt" the rotten flesh in the furnace, turning it into leather. This allows you to get a suit of armor early in the game, even if there are no cows around. It also comes in handy later in the game when you need to make bookshelves, etc.

Check out the mod here:

Break From Zombie on Facebook

Hello fellow MineCraftians!
I have started a Facebook page to complement my blog. I would love for you to head on over there and give it a "like". It will only take a second! :)

As always, have fun and keep mining,

New Beginnings

So I am once again starting another series. I had unfortunate incident with my saved world files and, as stupid as I now realize this was, I had not backed up any of my worlds. So it is back to square one.

I actually don't mind. There is something refreshing about starting again on a fresh new world, unscathed and untainted by ruins of half finished buildings, giant holes created by creeper explosions, and mines stripped of ore. Maybe it is just me, but I never tire of that feeling when you find your first vein of iron ore,and craft that first set of real tools and armor. Just for a fleeting moment, you feel almost invincible, ready to take on whatever that fresh new world  throws at you.

So that is where I am now. In this series I will be doing something I have never done before in all my many hours of playing MineCraft; complete all of the achievements in vanilla MineCraft. I will also be spotlighting new  mods every week.

Get In The Game!

One thing I have learned about MineCraft LP's (or any LP,for that matter) is that if the player is not in to the game, it will show. If you are bored, your viewers are bored. This may not be 100% true, but as a general rule of thumb, it is. I experienced this first hand the other day when I was set to record for my Tekkit series.

As always, I was doing  prep work before the actual recording so I have my "ducks in a row". As I was going through things I wanted to accomplish in that episode, I found myself thinking, " man, I am not feeling this right now". I did not want to walk away from it, as I was really wanting to get more content up on my channel. I knew I could not do quality content in that state of mind, so I moved on to something else.

My point is, I could have went ahead and recorded the episode, but the viewers would have noticed I was not 100% in my game.

So I ask the question, when you record, are you always 100% in the game, or can you "fake it" and still produce quality content? Please leave your comments.

Disaster at the Quarry

So if you have watched the latest Tekkit: Weapons Factory, you know things did not end well. Since I needed to rebuild, I made a trip down into a canyon I had found earlier.
Luckily, within the first half hour, I was able to find three veins of diamonds, which gave me just enough to rebuild the lost machinery.
This vein here made me a little nervous with the lava coming down on both sides, but I managed to get them without dying!
So now I have the materials I need to build again! Join me next episode as we repair the damage and rebuild the machinery!
